Bahrain/Oman: crossing, into deeper time
November 8-18, 2026
This is the Gulf as it was before the glass and steel, wind-tower cities, frankincense-scented souks, and deserts that stretch into infinity.
You begin in Manama, the ancient heart of Dilmun, where you descend into burial mounds that predate the pyramids and wander the gold souk as the call to prayer unfurls overhead. You trace pearling paths along the shores of Muharraq, then cross the causeway toward a different rhythm.
Oman awaits not as a destination, but as a homecoming. In Muscat, white marble and hushed reverence greet you at the Grand Mosque. You wander Muttrah Souk, where frankincense smolders in copper braziers. Then the city falls away. The Wahiba Sands rise amber and endless—dune bashing at golden hour, camel trains tracing ancient lines, a Bedouin dinner beneath a dome of stars so thick you can taste the Milky Way.
You sleep lulled by wind and silence, and wake to footprints already erased by dawn. This is not a tour of two countries. It is a crossing, into deeper time, quieter hospitality, a Gulf most travelers never find.
